Wolvercote Tunnel

Client: Carillion & Buckingham Group JV.
Service: BAT Deterrent Lighting.

Overview

RES were contracted for E&P works at the Wolvercote Tunnel which is a registered UK Bat Roosting Site. This included installing bespoke lighting which encourages the bats to hide when a train approaches the tunnel.

RES were tasked with the following works:
• DNO/Distribution cubicle.
• Co-ordinate DNO company with a live connection date for the cubicle.
• Installation of 136no. Luminaires.
• Installation of 6.7km of power cabling.
• Installation of Dali loop cable.
• Installation of Star quad Zollner cable & Axle counter.
• Glanding, termination, earthing and bonding.
• REB installation & associated power supply.
• Test new installation and provide BS7671 certification.
• Carry out lux level measurements.
• Operation & Maintenance Manual.
