KO2 Thameslink

The Thameslink KO2 Programme was developed to deliver a major expansion of the cross-london Thameslink Service. This involves the provision of longer, more frequent trains, serving a more extensive network to deliver a substantial increase in passenger capacity through the centre of London.

As part of the KO2 project, RES were required to install new points heating equipment at London Bridge. Our scope was the installation and commissioned of 7 point heating systems across 45 point ends along a 3.6 mile stretch between London Bridge and New Cross Gate.

The £6.5bn Thameslink programme is now approximately half way through, with the recent opening of two new platforms at Blackfriars and new track layout.

The project moves to the next stage and the biggest station redevelopment that London has ever seen, London Bridge station will transforming the travel experience for the 220,000 people who use the station each day.
