The Crossrail project covers 118-kilometre of railway line that is currently under construction in England. The route is due to begin fully operational in 2018, providing London with a new east-west route.

RES were heavily involved in the Crossrail works over Christmas 2014 providing the following services:

Introducing 5 No. FSP’s into a new 650V feeder circuit between Maidenhead and Ruscombe providing power to the operational railway.

Working closely with our customers we assisted by having staff present as part of the Fast Action Response Team providing 24hr cover from Christmas eve through to New Year’s day.

On the run up to Christmas Points heating enabling works were carried out at Stratford station, London, to allow plain line works to be completed as part of the S&C contract.

Another 2 areas of the Crossrail project; WITI and WOTI were commissioned over the Christmas period, our involvement was to installation of new point heating comprising of:

New Point Heating Control, DNO and Distribution Cubicles, 10 transformers, 21 TCB’s for a number of installations around Keith Road, Swallowfield way, Heathrow Airport portal and West Drayton East.
