Under the requirements of the Crossrail programme there was a distinct package of works to be carried out at Stockley Airport Junction.

These included the installation of a new flyover carrying the Up Airport over the Up and Down Mains, Up and Down Reliefs and Dawley Up Goods Loop.

The Up Airport line would then divide, with one leg descending adjacent to the Loop to a connection with the Up Relief, and the other leg crossing back over the Relief lines, and descending to connections to the Down Relief and Up Main.

The existing Up Airport was modified, and provided with a connection to the Down Airport only at one end, and connections to both the Down Relief and Up Main at the other.

The scheme saw all lines electrified, with the current limits of the electrification on the Mains and Reliefs retained

Works consisted of;
  • Installation of Trackside connection boxes
  • Installation of Strip heaters, clamp-locks & probes
  • Installation & Termination of cables
